      • Entrepreneurship, Marketing, & Business Certificate

        Students that complete the following requirements are eligible for a certificate of completion for the Penn School.

         

        Course of Study:

        1. ​Introduction to Business
        2. Entrepreneurship: Starting Your Own Business
        3. Choose 1:
        • Marketing Essentials
        • Marketing Management
        • Sports & Entertainment Marketing
        • Social Media Business Marketing 

         

        ​Who Should Participate:

        • Students who plan to study apply to a Business School program in college.

        • Students who plan to start a business in the future.

        • Students who are generally interested in business and entrepreneurship.

        Restrictions:

        • Ages: Must be 13 to apply

        • All coursework required to complete the certificate must be completed at the Penn School; however,

        • You do NOT need to be enrolled at Penn School full-time to participate in a Certificate Program

        Computer Science Certificate

        Students that complete the following requirements are eligible for a certificate of completion for the Penn School.

         

        Course of Study

        1. Choose 1:

          • Computer Applications

          • Introduction to Computers

          • Networking

        2. Choose 2:

          • Web Design with Dreamweaver

          • Introduction to C++ Programming

          • Java SE 8 Associate

         

        ​Who Should Participate:

        • Students who plan to major in

           

          • Computer Science

          • Information Technology

          • Computer Engineering

          • Computer Programming

        • Students who are generally interested in the field of Coding and Computer Science.

         

        Restrictions:

        • Ages: Must be 13 to apply

        • All coursework required to complete the certificate must be completed at the Penn School; however,

        • You do NOT need to be enrolled at Penn School full-time to participate in a Certificate Program.

        Criminal Justice Certificate

        Students that complete the following requirements are eligible for a certificate of completion for the Penn School:

        1. Criminal Justice Operations
        2. Forensic Science
        3. Law & Order: Intro to Legal Studies (.5)
        4. Social Problems I: A World In Crisis (.5)

        ​Who Should Participate:

        • Students who plan to major in:

          • Corrections

          • Law Enforcement Administration

          • Prelaw Studies

        Liberal Arts Certificate

        Students that complete the following requirements are eligible for a certificate of completion for the Penn School:

        • Students who plan to major in:

          • Liberal Arts

          • History

          • Literature

          • Writing

          • Philosophy

          • Sociology,

          • Creative arts

        • Students who are generally interested in the field of Liberal Arts

         

        Restrictions:

        • Ages: Must be 13 to apply

        • All Coursework required to complete the certificate must be completed at the Penn School; however,

        • You do NOT need to be enrolled at Penn School full-time to participate in a Certificate Program.

        Medical Science Certificate

        Students that complete the following requirements are eligible for a certificate of completion for the Penn School:

         

        Course of Study

        1. Health Sciences: The Whole Individual (1 Credit)
        2. Choose 1:
          • Veterinary: Zoology (1) + Veterinary Science (.5)
          • Nursing: Anatomy and Physiology (1)+ Orientation to Nursing (.5)

        ​Who Should Participate:

        • Students who plan to study join a Pre-Veterinary Science program in college.

        • Students who plan to study Animal Science or Biology in college.

        • Students who plan to become a Veterinarian or Vet tech in the future.

        • Students who are generally interested in veterinary science or plan to work with animals as a career.

         

        Restrictions:

        • Ages: Must be 13 to apply

        • All coursework required to complete the certificate must be completed at the Penn School; however,

        • You do NOT need to be enrolled at Penn School full-time to participate in a Certificate Program

        Architecture Certificate

        Students that complete the following requirements are eligible for a certificate of completion for the Penn School:

         

        Course of Study

        1. Architectural Design
        2. Adobe Illustrator 
        3. Choose 1:
          • Project Management (recommended)
          • Building Maintenance Technician

        ​Who Should Participate:

        • Students who plan to major in architecture in college.

        • Students who plan to become an architect or designer in the future.

        • Students who are generally interested in architecture or plan to work in this field as a career.

         

        Restrictions:

        • Ages: Must be 13 to apply

        • All coursework required to complete the certificate must be completed at the Penn School; however,

        • You do NOT need to be enrolled at Penn School full-time to participate in a Certificate Program

        Resumé Builder

        By completing a certificate program, students can build a portfolio of work that can be used to demonstrate their skills and qualifications to college admissions officers and potential employers.

        College Prep

        Certificate programs can introduce students to the specialized coursework of one's prospective major in college, which can help them to better understand the expectations and rigors of college-level classes.

        Career Readiness

        Completing a certificate program can open up job opportunities and can provide a stepping stone for students to enter a career in their chosen field.High School requirements can be very restrictive. Certificate programs can provide students with specialized training and skills that will be valuable in college and in the workforce.

        Certificate programs can expose students to different fields of study, allowing them to make more informed decisions about which major to pursue in college.

        Certificate programs are often less expensive and shorter in duration than college degrees, making them more accessible for students.

        Who can apply for Certificate Program?

        Penn School Certificate Program accepts students above the age of 12.

         

        What support do students receive from their teachers?

        ALL courses include full support from our certified Teacher. Students also have an academic advisor we assign for any other questions, problems, or issues.

         

        When can students apply and/or enroll?

        Rolling admission means students can enroll at any time

         

        Is the coursework accredited?

        Yes! For more information regarding accreditation and standards, please visit our accreditation page.

         

        Does the student need to be logged in at a particular time every day?

        No! Students will be given 24/7 access to their virtual classroom. This offers parents and students the freedom to set their own schedules and learning pace.

         

      • Our Approach

        Our innovative online learning curriculum for high school students includes the following elements:

        1. Personalized Learning: Students will have access to a wide range of resources and materials, including videos, interactive activities, and simulations, that can supplement their learning. They will also have the ability to work at their own pace and customize their learning experience according to their individual learning style and needs.

        2. Technology Integration: Online learning platforms, such as learning management systems, educational apps, and virtual reality, will be used to enhance the learning experience. These tools will also allow students to collaborate, communicate, and share their work with peers and teachers.

        3. Global Learning Community: Students will have opportunities to connect with other students and teachers from around the world, providing opportunities for diverse perspectives and cultural exchange. This could be through online discussions, video conferencing, and student clubs.

        4. Self-Directed Learning: Students will be encouraged to take ownership of their learning and set goals for themselves. They will also have access to a wide range of resources and materials, including videos, interactive activities, and simulations, that can supplement their learning.

        5. Progress Tracking: Students and teachers will have access to real-time data on student progress, allowing for timely interventions and support for students who may be struggling.

        6. College & Life Readiness: Students are preparing for the next chapter in the educational journey -- whether that is College or Career.

        7. Multimodal: The curriculum will include a variety of formats, such as text, video, images, audio, and interactive activities, to engage students and cater to different learning styles.

        College & Workforce Prep

        The Certificate Program at Penn School prepares students for both college and the workforce by providing them with a set course of study from our elective courses. Electives in vocational, career, and technical emphasis will help students gain specific skills or knowledge that are in demand in the workforce.
